Euro nymphing is simply a specialized method of fishing nymphs for trout on a tight line.  Heavily weighted (often multiple) flies and light tippet are used to quickly sink flies, and a “sighter” (multi colored section of monofilament) is used instead of an indicator (bobber). The method is designed to avoid missed strikes by keeping the angler connected by touch with the nymph at all times. Its name derives from its origins in competitive fly fishing tournaments by teams from The Czech Republic, France and Spain but is now used worldwide.

Here are the topics we’ll be discussing:

  • Gear
  • Leader Setups
  • Fly Selection
  • Reading the Water
  • Casting, Presentation, and Hooksets
