General Info: Jump Off Joe Lake is a pretty little 24-acre lake surrounded by mountains. It’s fly-fishing, catch-and-release only. This lake is open year-round, with catchable-size Rainbow and Brown trout plants providing some great action here.
Suggested Flies: Woolly Buggers, Leaches & Balanced Leaches, Scuds, Chironomids, Pheasant tails and Olive Willys, all in small sizes 12-18. Consider intermediate sink line, sink tip or floating line with indicators.
Directions: Just 18 miles North of Deer Park take US-395 north to Jump Off Joe Rd on your left. Follow the road .9 miles to the public access on the NE edge of the lake. There is a primitive boat launch that will accept float tubes up to small aluminum boats.
Food & Facilities: There is a restroom at the parking lot. This is a day outing so you are responsible for your own food, lunch and snacks. Bring drinking water.
Suggestions: Float tube or pontoon type watercraft recommended but not required. There is limited shoreline fishing access at the public access but best fished from a watercraft.
