Our conservation message is from a recent communication from
Jerry White, Executive Director of Spokane Riverkeeper. Enjoy and be well.

Hello fellow River fans and fellow keepers,

We hope you are safe, healthy and secure in these strange and bewildering times. Last night, I was talking to a friend about her River and how its presence can lend such perspective and solace to our lives in times like these. She reflected on the beauty and permanence of its flow, from Coeur d’Alene Lake to the Columbia River.

Your Spokane River has been running for millennia. It has supported (and supports) people who were intimately connected to the river for thousands of years, and has more recently provided the heart and the soul to communities and citizens from Coeur d’Alene to Fort Spokane, from Plummer to Suncrest. The flow of the River continues. In such uncertain times as this, I hope you are in a position to get out and take a walk by the River, sit along the banks and listen to her healing voice and watch her rhythmic waves. If you can, they will share with you what you need. Truth in motion.

Here at Riverkeeper, we are bending and flexing with the waves and taking our lessons from the willows on the river bank. We will see our way through the high spring flows, and we most fervently wish you health, and well-being as you find your way through the flow of this life.

We are so thankful for you, our river community in Spokane. Please stay well, everyone, and we will keep you informed as developments unfold.

May you bend with the flow.
